ABOUT

Hi, I’m Lara and I specialize in helping couples communicate better, discuss difficult topics in effective ways, heal from relationship betrayal, or just start working like a team again. I have been married for 26 years, so I have personal experience navigating relationship challenges. I have worked with couples in all stages: from those who are just starting out and are looking to build a good foundation to those who are determining how to navigate retirement together.

I principally work from the Developmental Model of Couples Therapy, but draw from a variety of theories and approaches including Gottman, Emotionally Focused Therapy, attachment work, and neurobiology. I believe strongly that we heal fastest in relationship and that couples push each other to grow. I work to support and promote healing growth in each partner so that you can create a more vibrant, honest, peaceful relationship.

  • Couples Therapist
  • LCSW (Licensed Clinical Social Worker) Licensed Clinical Social Worker
All well-trained relationship specialists seek to offer advice, feedback, observations, and homework to help your relationship evolve.

This profession usually requires two years of study after obtaining an undergraduate degree. While specific licensure requirements vary by state, most require clinical social workers to obtain 3,000 hours or 2 years of supervised clinical experience, after obtaining a Masters degree. Social workers can also specialize in diverse fields such as human services management, social welfare analysis, community organizing, social and community development, and social and political research.

As you know, this is not an easy task when you and your partner are struggling to communicate, cooperate, and connect. This is where a highly trained guide is especially valuable.
